Reset your password, and log in on a second device

For a parent locked out, or setting up a second device.

Resetting your password

  1. On the login page, tap the forgot-password link. The page asks for your account email and says it'll send you a reset link.
  2. Tap "Send reset link". The message on screen is the same whether or not that email has an account, on purpose, so nobody can use the form to check which emails are signed up.
  3. Open the email and tap the link. Type a "New password (8+ characters)" and the same thing again under "Confirm password", then tap "Save new password".

The link works on any device. Ask from the tablet and open the email on your phone if that's easier.

Ask once. The email usually lands within a minute, and asking again in the next 10 minutes doesn't send another one, so the link you already have keeps working.

Changing your password when you know it

  1. Open the grown-up area, tap the "Account" tab, and find the panel called "Your account".
  2. Under "Change password", type your "Current password", then the new one twice: "New password (8+ characters)" and "Confirm new password".
  3. Tap "Change password". It says "Password changed." and that's it. Devices already signed in stay signed in.

The current password is required on purpose. A child who finds the tablet unlocked can't lock you out.

A second device

Just log in on it with the same email and password. Your kids' profiles, progress and settings live on the account, not the device, so they're all there. The parent PIN is the same one too.

Screen-time minutes are per child, not per device. Ten minutes on the tablet and ten on the phone is twenty.

Common questions

The reset email never arrived.

Give it a couple of minutes and check spam. Make sure the address you typed is the one you signed up with. If it was a different one, the form still says it sent, but nothing goes anywhere. If it's still missing, email ervin@brightstepchild.com from the account address.

Can my kids log in on their own?

No. Children don't have logins. They tap their name on a device you've already signed into. If you want the app on a device they use alone, log in on it once yourself and set the parent PIN.

I changed my password. Do the other devices log out?

Devices already signed in usually stay signed in until their session expires. If you're changing the password because someone had access they shouldn't, email us and we'll sign every device out.

Still stuck?

Email goes straight to a person, usually answered within a couple of days. Include the email you signed up with so we can find your account.
